RIYADH, October 04, 2026 (DAILYNWZ) — Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis said they targeted an Aramco facility in Riyadh with ballistic missiles and drones on Saturday, escalating hostilities with Saudi Arabia, although there was no immediate confirmation from Saudi authorities or the oil company.

The Houthis said the attack was carried out in retaliation for Saudi strikes on Sanaa and other parts of Yemen.

A large plume of smoke and fire was seen rising near an Aramco facility in Riyadh earlier on Saturday, a witness told Reuters. The account could not immediately be independently linked to the Houthi claim.

Saudi authorities had not immediately confirmed an attack on an Aramco site. Saudi Aramco also did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The reported incident comes as the Houthis have intensified attacks on Saudi cities and energy infrastructure, raising the risk of further disruption in a region where oil facilities have previously come under attack.

The Houthis said last week that they had also targeted Aramco facilities in Yanbu with missiles and drones. Saudi Arabia said at the time that it had intercepted six ballistic missiles fired toward Taif and the Yanbu area, but reported no damage to Aramco facilities.

The latest claim could not be independently verified.
